FLOATING MARKET II : AMPHAWA

January 3, 2009 at the weekend. We woke early in the morning to go to Amphawa Floating Market, Samut Songkhram . We arrived at the BangkokNoi Train Station at 8.30 am , we got a free train ticket to go to the Mahachai Train Station , Mahachai is one district of SamutSakhorn. we got a free ticket train to go MeaKlong train Station. At the Meaklong train station we will see the unseen market on the railway train whenever the train running the seller will close the umbrella , after the train passed they will open the umbrella . Then we took the blue car about 15 minutes to Amphawa Floating Market.

At Amphawa Floating Market we can see the pictures of real Thai style sale many food on the boat and we can see pictures of monks rowing up and down this canal collecting food during their alms round. To see this you would have to be here early in the morning. This area has many home stay for tourisms closer the canal.

A lady in a small boat paddling along the canal. Judging by the ingredients lay out in front of her it looked like she could cook PadThai. We was feeling a bit hungry so I called out to her and she came paddling over. We sat on the side of the canal while she cooked us some very delicious PadThai. The people cooking in the boats had a pully system hooked up. They put the meal in a basket and you then pulled it up! Very ingenious.

In the afternoon we purchased a boat trip to go to the temples. One of those temples we can see the Unseen Thai chapel. There had four trees cover and mixed with the chapel. After we came back to the Floating Market again, many people came here. Then we went to the MeaKlong Market by Blue car and after we came back Bangkok by the van.
