Drive TukTuk around Chiang Mai

CHIANG MAI is the Capital city of northern Thailand. It is located some 700 km north of Bangkok, among some of the highest mountains in the country. The city stands on the Ping River.



June 17, 2009 After finish work i went Chiang Mai by air plane Airasia at 21.30pm, one hour reach to Chiang Mai town. I went to the hotel by Taxi. All my trip i choose to stay at "Imm Eco Hotel Chiang Mai"




June 18, 2009 the raining early in the morning. After breakfast i call to one taxi service (Thai call TUK TUK) Mr. Manit (+660851063511) the driver who is friendly and good spirit to take me on tour Chiang Mai town to pray 9 temples around town with the cheap price and take me on tour all my 3 days trip.


  • Wiang Kum Kam the site of an old city situated on the southern outskirts of Chiang Mai. King Mengrai used this for ten years befoare the fonding of chiang Mai. the site has a large number of ruined temples.





  • Wat Lok Moli the beautiful temple Lanna style

  • Wat Suan Dok the temple was built by the King of Lanna.

  • Wat Chiang Man the oldest temple in Chiang Mai dating from the 13th century. King mengrai lived here while overseeing the construction of the city.


  • Wat Phra Singh Located withing the city walls, dates from 1345 and offers and example of classic northern Thai style architechture. It houses the Phra Singh Buddha , a highly venerated fingure, transferred here many years ago from Chaing Rai.


  • Wat Pan Thao the old wood temple in the town




  • Wat Chai Mongkhol the big temple closer Ping river






  • Wat Chedi Luang founded in 1401 and dominated by the large Lanna style Chedi which dates from the some time, but took many years to finish. An Earthquake damaged he Chedi in the 16th century and now only two-thirds of it remains.


  • Wat Ched Yot located on the outskirts of the city , this temple, built in 1455, hosted the Eighth World Buddhist Council in 1977.




June 19, 2009 Today i am on tour mountain by Tuk Tuk to Hmong Hilltribe "Bann pha mea kok" the Village of Hmong Hilltribe. they work about garden vegetable and flower. After that,visit the Orchid farm to see a large collection of orchids more than 50 different kinds of the colorful year-round orchids.









After go down the mountain. I went to the beautiful Wat Pha Darapilom. This temple build for respect to Queen of Lanna






Then I went to SanKampaeng area for sightseeing and shopping.Several things to see and choose as the souvenir Umbrella making, Thai silk and cotton looms, Teakwood carring, Pottery & the Celadon kilns, Lacquerware, Silverware, Jewelry factories and more.




June 20, 2009 Today i went to the most famous temple in the area Wat Phathat Doi Suthep, standing on the hill to the north-west of the city. This temple dates from 1383. The temple's location also affords superb views over the city on a clear day. Than i went the Chiangmai Airport to back to Bangkok.
